The Alaska Alcohol and Marijuana Control Office (or AMCO) requires every licensee, employee, or agent of a marijuana establishment who sells, cultivates, manufactures, tests, or transports marijuana or marijuana product, or who checks the identification of a consumer or visitor of a marijuana establishment, must obtain a Marijuana Handlers Card.

There are many regulations specific to the state of Alaska to obtain this card. To obtain a marijuana handler permit, a person must complete a handful of steps including but not limited to, a marijuana handler permit education course approved by the board, pass a written test demonstrating an understanding of the course material (scoring a 70% or better passing score), obtain a certificate of course completion from the course provider, submitting an application and background check and more.
