With the cannabis -legalization movements expanding into new states and some members of Congress advocating for reform and even federal legalization, many are wondering what will this year bring for the industry.   So far in 2022 we have found that many businesses are in a period of question,  trying to figure out what their next move is going to be,  how they’re going to scale, how they’re going to operate in multiple states, and or multiple verticals. There is also a lot of challenges when it comes to technology platforms, and harnessing all that data that’s being produced, as well as maintaining the compliance. We meet up with Gary Strahle as he shares his thoughts on the industry, and what you need to know.

Harry Brelsford

Hey everybody. Welcome back to the CannaTech podcast. We are with Gary Strahle. Again, how you doing, Gary?

Gary Strahle

I’m doing excellent. Thank you, Harry.

Harry Brelsford

Well, you’re welcome. Well, last time we kind of introduced you to our community. This time, let’s talk to sort of State State of the Union. What’s, uh, what are you hearing? What do you see in your world and the cannabis area, the cannabis technology area? What’s going on?

Gary Strahle

Um, I would have to say everybody is in a period of question, trying to figure out what their next move is going to be how they’re going to scale, how they’re going to operate in multiple states, or vertically. There’s a lot of challenges when it comes to your technology platforms, and harnessing all that data that’s being produced, as well as maintaining the compliance. So those who have their technology, best figured out are going to be in the best shape to grow. And, essentially, there’s so many options out there for one to choose from a lot of specific software’s, but not really single solution that can can do it all. And that’s where we’re coming in to the picture to try and solve those solutions and be that omni channel database that cannabis enterprises can use and leverage to build their organizations. Not just locally or regionally, but worldwide.

Harry Brelsford

Yeah, yeah, absolutely. What do you think for the year ahead, you know, things are constantly changing daily in the economy in the world. And so under people feeling optimistic about 2022, in terms of growth and consumption,

Gary Strahle

um, there’s a few risk takers out there. But there’s a lot of people kind of just in their status quo, trying to simply get by and make it to the next step. And essentially, there’s just a lot of challenges both with not only your technology, but your workplace, you know, your staff, everything that’s going on internally, so it’s, it’s a big challenge ahead for us all, but it is one that can absolutely be taken on and, and dealt with. Using the right people and tools.

Harry Brelsford

Yeah, yeah. No, no question about it. What upcoming shows where were we gonna find? Yes.

Gary Strahle

Um, I am potentially going to be ending up here in Spain on March 10, at the International Cannabis Business Conference, as well as Spannabis. At the same time, there’s another show in Austin, Texas, the Southwest Conference, potentially, I’m kind of weighing my options right now figuring out where I might be. There’s a couple shows coming up in Florida, and New York. So I’m somewhat just in an evaluation phase of where to take my next step. Just getting a temperature on on the market and figuring out where I’m going to fit in best.

Harry Brelsford

Yeah, yeah, absolutely. Well, I’ll tell you what, it will end on this. If you do go to South by Southwest. I’m here in Austin. I am intending to go to that. And folks, you can go to their site, s x s w.org. And you can search on the word cannabis, and it’ll bring up the speeches. It’s really cool. There’s a fair number of speeches. So hope, hope to see you Gary. Thanks for Thanks for your time. Thank you. Appreciate it. All right. Yeah, hey, let’s, uh, let’s let’s get you back. Maybe, you know, mid year ish or something right before the NCAA. why don’t why don’t we, you know, check in with you towards the end of next quarter. Be good to kind of have the cadence with you, man.

Gary Strahle

Absolutely. Yeah. We’re gonna have a webinar today at 11am. On LinkedIn live, if you’re able to join us, yes. Send me the link. I will. Yeah, send it right over. Yeah, that’s
