Harry Brelsford

Hey, welcome back to the candidate tech podcast. We’re crossing the aisle to the developer side, DevOps. I love it. Gary straily. Gary, you’re kind of our one developer in our mix. So this is cool. How’re you doing?

Gary Strahle

I’m doing great. Thank you. How are you? Yeah.

Harry Brelsford

What’s going on developer land? You told me before we started, you’re staying busy. What’s? What’s up? Yeah.

Gary Strahle

Yeah, we’re really busy. There’s tons of emerging technologies and great tools to take advantage of, and leverage to build any kind of app or automation, digital transformation, integration. You name it. You know, those are the things that we’re working on right now is a lot of apps consulting and payments. And yeah, we’re connecting apps with apps. And we’re just further scaling, and developing our existing app inventory, to feature new and emerging technologies and capabilities. So we’re very busy keeping up with all that. Now, are

Harry Brelsford

you strictly focused on the cannabis industry with this development wave? Or do you do also do adjacent industries?

Gary Strahle

Yeah, I’m doing adjacent industries. And sure, most of my work is spent in the cannabis side of things, but continues to evolve. My work always evolves. You know, it’s just the nature of it. So that’s kind of what we’re doing. We’re working at a number of capacities to do a variety of business with technically any industry. You know, apps consulting and payments.

Harry Brelsford

No payments. No kidding. Yeah, that’s, yeah, that’s a that’s a big word. No doubt about it. The No, that’s cool. Just to remind everybody, you’re you’re a developer on top of the Salesforce platform, right? At the end of the day.

Gary Strahle

Yeah, I’m titled as an architect. You know, I have a long history and development background, starting as a webmaster, and then learning objective programming languages. And yeah, so today, I choose Salesforce as my platform of choice to build apps, and develop and code, whatever it is, we may be, and, you know, JavaScript as well, to, to build those apps connecting to Salesforce. So yeah, I think JavaScript is is the code of the future really for, for all platforms to connect, communicate?

Harry Brelsford

Yep. That while I’m encouraged that you’re busy, you know, we’re we’re starting to, to hear, I’m not so much seeing it. But we’re starting to hear conversations about oh, my god are recessions coming in 23. And that’s gonna impact a little bit more the audience I run with, which would be the more often than not, we, I mean, I’m a geek, don’t get me wrong. I’m a geek, but I get drawn into marketing and sales and those conversations. And those people are, they’re a little nervous. On the marketing side, marketing budgets tend to get cut in recessions, versus years. I think it may be I wouldn’t call it recession proof. But maybe over in the depths side, it’s recession resistant. Is that a fair statement?

Gary Strahle

I think there’s always going to be a demand for development of technologies. And everyone is, is being forced, as a result of a recession to become more modern and run their businesses more efficiently. So and in that case, it does help drive business for us. And, you know, it’s just one of those things that is going to continue to drive business always. And it’s just a great capability in life to to have, you know, to be able to build things, whether they’re physical and or digital. There can be tremendous value. Yep.

Harry Brelsford

All right. Well, hey, Gary. Fingers crossed. I’ll see you at one of the wonders To the industry shows but we’ll circle back to you next quarter if you don’t mind I just I love it you’re you’re my one you’re my one developer man

Gary Strahle

Well I appreciate it hey all

Harry Brelsford
